Metrotenerife, winner of the Eurorail Cluster Innovation Awards

Metrotenerife, a company of the Government of Tenerife, has recently been awarded by its product Removable Insulating Chamber for Rail in the ERCI Innovation Awards of the Eurorail Clusters. The President of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, congratulated the company’s Projects staff for the new international prize and for the development of this product for the guided transport sector.

Enrique Arriaga highlighted the importance of this prize because it is awarded by the European Railway Cluster Initiative (ERCI), the main European association of the railway industry, which brings together the 16 largest innovation clusters from 17 countries of the continent.

The director of the Projects Department, Raúl Parra, as well as, Pablo Oromí and Teresa Benet, who are part of this area where this engineering solution, the Removable Insulating Chamber for Rail, were attended at this event. Precisely, Oromí received the prize ‘Coup de Coeur of the Jury’ of the ERCI Innovation Awards in the international fair of rail transport InnoTrans (Berlin).

In the eighth edition of the ERCI Innovation Awards, thirty-one finalist companies competed for only three prizes, one of them is the Coup de Coeur. Last year, the Removable Insulating Chamber for Rail won the award for Best Technical Innovation in Infrastructure of the Year at the UK Global Light Rail Awards.
