Tenerife Tram has recovered in June the 60% of the passenger’ demand with regard to the same month of the last year. The demand dropped 90% at the beginning of the alarm state. In May, with the Phase 1 of the de-escalation plan, the growth of the number of users has been moderate and a total of 698.000 cancellations has been achieved with an average on working days of 27.000 passengers. Additionally, the average of passengers per vehicle has been of 83 users.
Metrotenerife maintains the daily cleaning and disinfection protocol on trams and stops, besides other measures against Covid-19 as the mandatory use of the face masks by the passengers.
The first vice-president of Island Government, Enrique Arriaga, explains that the mobility normalization and the protection measures on public transport have helped the citizens to bet again to the tram for their journeys.
