Metrotenerife, a company attached to Island Government, is close to the highest score in transparency rates to achieve a grade of 9.32 (state level) and 9.10 (regional level) en 2019 analysis. The Canary Transparency Commissioner gave these scores to the tramway operator according to the degree of compliance of the current legislations (Law 19/2013 and Law 12/2014), the dates and information published on its transparency web (external link https:/transparencia.metrotenerife.com/).
The vice-president of the Island Government and Metrotenerife president, Enrique Arriaga, affirmed that these grades are a recognition for the work and effort of all company departments to develop a transparent management, as well as accessible and close to the citizen.
The evaluation methodology for companies attached to island governments is focused on information about the organization, the structure and tram service management, its economic impact, among other indicators.
The Canary Transparency Commissioner, that is dependent on regional Parliament, has evaluated more than 300 public organizations.
