The vice-president of the Island Government, Enrique Arriaga, announced requirements to reinforce the public transport (buses and trams) to adapt it to the new measures and limitations such as 50% occupancy and increase the frequencies on working days and weekends, to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
Arriaga appeals to the passengers’ responsibility and invite them to consult the tram occupancy through the apps TranviaOnline (external link, www.tranviaonline.metrotenerife.com) and ten+móvil. Likewise the users can inform about these modifications services on this web and on social networks, Facebook and Twitter (@tranviatenerife).
Weekend services
The Line 1 will run from 06:00 am to 12:00 pm with frequencies of 8 minutes on Saturdays (19 and 26 of December and 2 of January) during a large part of the day, from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. On Sundays (20 and 27 of December and 3 of January) it will do it every 10 minutes. The weekend services will finish at midnight (12:00 pm). Regarding Line 2, the frequencies will be 16 minutes on Saturdays and 15 minutes on Sundays.
Working day services
The Line 1 trams will work every 4,5 minutes from 07:00 am to 09:00 am and from 01:00 pm to 03:00 pm. The rest of the days there will be frequencies of 5 and 6 minutes. The Line 2 service has scheduled trams every 10 and 12 minutes, mainly.
On the other hand, Titsa will reinforce its bus service in those lines with the greatest demand.
