Metrotenerife, company headed by the vice-president of the Island Government, Enrique Arriaga, will activate special timetables in the tram service on the occasion of the celebrations of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Friday 24th, Line 1 will work with a frequency of 6 minutes until 03:00 pm and then do it every 7.5 and 10 minutes throughout the afternoon. The Line 2 will have frequencies of 12 minutes, also until 03:00 pm, and then every 15 and 20 minutes.
The president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, invites citizens to use public transport at this Christmastime. For that reason, the company has been launched the campaign ‘Desenvuélvete en Navidad con el Tranvía’ to encourage the use of the tram service for these days with the reinforcement of frequencies during the weekends due to the commercial activity.
On the other hand, the island director of Mobility, José Alberto León, says that Metrotenerife will finish the tram service, on both lines, at 08:30 pm. so the company’s workers can also celebrate the traditional Christmas Eve dinner with their families. At that time the last units will leave from the stops Intercambiador and La Trinidad on Line 1 and from La Cuesta and Tíncer on Line 2.
Christmas Day
On Saturday 25th, Christmas Day, the tram will resume its service on both lines from 08:00 am with a frequency of 12 minutes, mainly, and the night service will continue to run as usual.
