The tram of Tenerife increases its frequency at peak hours from Mondays to Fridays and on Saturdays

November 17, 2020

The vice-president of the Island Government and Metrotenerife president, Enrique Arriaga, recommends to download the app TranvíaOnline (http://tranviaonline.metrotenerife.com/), that informs of the occupation of each tram before it arrives to the stop station, and insist in the individual responsibility to wait for the next tram if its plenty of passengers.

The service reinforces at the peak hours (from 7:00 to 9:00 am and from 13:00 to 15:00 pm.), From Monday to Friday, so the frequency between trams is of 4.30 minutes. Also, on Saturdays, the waiting time between trams goes down from 20 minutes to 15 minutes.

Those measures are activated after studying the levels of occupation by day, so Metrotenerife has detected the periods of more passangers inside the trams. The increasing of frequency adds to the measures of prevention of Covid-19 already applied, as daily disinfections of trams, door openings in each tram stop or the app TranviaOnline. The current maximum percentage of occupation is 66%, following the instructions of health authorities.
