- Metrotenerife, transport company of the Government of Tenerife, begins from this Thursday, 1st September, the wintertime in the regular tram service due to the socio-economic reactivation of the metropolitan area.
The president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, comments that “the wintertime frequencies will coincide with the discount of 50% in fares of the public transport that is funded by the Ministry of Transport. So, we are in a better position to respond to the increase in demand, between 10% and 15%, which we will achieve with this measure”.
Wintertime: working days
From this Thursday 1st September Line 1 will operate every 6 minutes, from 7:00 am to 3:00 am, and Line 2 every 12 minutes. In the afternoon-night hours, the service will be 7, 7.5 and 15 minutes.
From Monday 12th, the tramway network will adopt the final frequencies of wintertime of 5 minutes on Line 1 and 10 minutes on Line 2 during peak hours from Monday to Friday and then every 6, 12 and 15 minutes. The weekend’s timetable will not be modified and will be the same with which the tram operates all year.
Metrotenerife remember that the use of face masks on board the trams is mandatory and that they can consult the service schedules on the web and on their social networks, Facebook and Twitter (@tranviatenerife).
