On Tuesday 8 September, Tenerife Tram activates the winter timetable with the increase of frequencies

Metrotenerife has scheduled the winter timetable on Tuesday 8 September therefore the service frequencies will be increased. From now on, the tram will run on working days, from Monday to Friday, every 5 minutes on Line 1 and 10 minutes on Line 2 during the morning and midday hours.

The vice-president of the Island Government and president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, explained that with this modification the transport offer adjusts to the demand and the metropolitan area activity due to the period of study and to the increase number of movements for work reasons.

Likewise, in evening timetable the trams will have more regularity than in summer time. From 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Line 1 will have a frequency of 6 minutes and 12 minutes on Line 2. In July and August the tram demand was 80% compared with the same period of previous year and the maximum occupancy of 96 passengers per vehicle.

Metrotenerife remembers that the night services at weekends and public day’s remains suspended according to the indications of the Island Government. The tram operator continues to meet the authorities’ requirements such as maximum occupancy per vehicle of 132 passengers (64 seats + 68 standing places), cleaning and disinfection protocols every day at stops and trams besides the mandatory use of the face mask by passengers.
